Finding Strength in Stillness: HOSTING A Walk + Talk with LV Girls Who Walk
Community, conscious connection, and women’s empowerment in the Lehigh Valley
No matter how much you prep ahead of time, there always seems to be a last-minute scramble and this event was no exception. But despite the overcast skies and pre-event checklist, we couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful outcome from hosting this special Walk + Talk with LV Girls Who Walk as part of their Summer Walk + Talk Series.
Held on Sunday, July 13th at the Allentown Rose Gardens, we had the honor of guiding this reflective and connection-centered walk under the trees, surrounded by women who showed up fully even if they arrived not knowing a single soul.
We Came with Nerves, and Left with Calm
Almost everyone who joined us mentioned this was their first LV Girls Who Walk event, and many came solo. You could feel the nerves at the beginning those tender, uncertain moments of stepping into a new space with strangers. But the shift was incredible.
After a short welcome, we began our walk. And as we moved through the gardens, the conversations naturally unfolded— touching on relationships, mental health, confidence, life shifts, and personal growth.
Though the roses weren’t quite in bloom, one particular path was bursting with colorful tropical flowers and large elephant ear leaves creating a surprise pocket of beauty that felt like a metaphor for the day itself. We were enjoying the flow so much, we opted for a second lap, letting our words and footsteps carry us deeper into connection.
💌 Affirmations, Vulnerability & Future Selves
After the walk, we slowed down for a quiet moment of grounding and reflection. We guided the group through an affirmation practice, inviting everyone to take in the words and message of the affirmation card given and share whatever came to mind.
It was moving to witness women share honestly with one another— no filters, no pressure. Just a safe, supportive space to be fully present.
We then moved into a letter-writing ritual to our future selves reflecting on our past, noticing where we are now, and holding space for who we’re becoming. With the sounds of birds and the brush of wind weaving through the trees, it became a quiet, beautiful ceremony of growth. We sealed our letters with butterfly stickers, a symbol of transformation, evolution, and trust in what’s to come.
A Gentle Reminder of the Power of Showing Up
This gathering reminded me that community can be built in the simplest of ways by walking, talking, listening, and being present with one another.
We’re so grateful to LV Girls Who Walk for inviting us to host this event as part of their Summer Series. Their mission to bring women together through movement and connection across the Lehigh Valley is something we deeply resonate with.
